AAPL – Apple – Buy for long term, but short for now
WLT – Walter Energy – Buy on pullbacks
APA – Apache – Buy
YHOO – Yahoo – Buy if it gets whacked on weak results

Terranova:
BRCM – Broadcom – Buy

Finerman:
BKS – Barnes & Noble – Short through puts

Whitney Tilson, T2 Partners:
*Hedge your longs and short housing.

Pops (stocks that jumped higher):
HGSI – Human Genome Sciences (5%) – Secured a $75 million milestone payment from Novartis for its Hep C drug, Zalbin
ETN – Eaton Corp (6%) – Adami: I wouldn’t pile in here
CIT – CIT Group (8%) – Carl Icahn sent a letter to their board Monday offering to underwrite a $6 billion loan
IPCS – IPCS (34%) – Spring agreed to acquire it for $426 million, ending their legal battle

Drops (stocks that slid lower):
BBT – BB&T (4%) – Missed on earnings with profits falling 57% largely due to a continued rise in delinquent loans
MAT – Mattel (2%) – Terranova: I’d sit on the sidelines
WFT – Weatherford (3%) – Earnings fell 79% due to weak demand
ELY – Callaway Golf (5%) – Predicted a 3Q loss amid waning consumer spending that has dampened demand for discretionary items
