DVN – Devon – Buy
APC – Anadarko – Buy

XOM – Exxon – Buy if you expect inflation to become a problem
GLD – GLD ETF – Buy if you expect inflatin to become a problem

Pops (stocks that jumped higher):
TM – Toyota (3%) – Macke: I would not play this stock
HON – Honeywell (6%) – Najarian: Materials costs are coming down
SKF – ProShares UltraShort Financials ETF (7%) – Macke: I like it but these double trade ETFs are contributing to the volatility
DSX – Diana Shipping (14%) – Good day for carrying commodities
GLD – SPDR Gold Trust ETF (2%) – Gold futures advanced on the dollar’s decline
MGM – MGM Mirage (7%) – Agreed to sell Treasure Island Hotel & Casino to Phil Ruffin for $775 million
MTB – Vail Resorts (3%) – Reportedly insulated from the economic slowdown because of its elite clientele

Drops (stocks that slid lower):
BXP – Boston Properties (6%) – Finerman: I wouldn’t short on the Madoff scam, but I would if you think commercial real estate is going lower
FXI – iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index ETF (3%) – Seymour: I like China in 2009
JCP – JC Penney (4%) – Heavy put volume spooked investors
XHB – SPDR S&P Homebuilders (4%) – Fitch lowered its debt rating on many of the homebuilders, including DR Horton, Lennar, and Pulte
HUN – Huntsman (49%) – Terminated its $6.5 billion agreement to be acquired by Apollo Management
