Pops (stocks that jumped up):
LPX – Louisiana Pacific (3%) – Adami: a homebuilding nightmare; stay away
CPA – Copa Holdings (6%) – Seymour: beat earnings amid soaring jet fuel prices; good news, and gives exposure to commercial and cargo in Latin America

Drops (stocks that slid lower):
SWY – Safeway (7%) – Macke: said it would fire employees to keep up margins; that’s not good enough for this market
LEH – Lehman Brothers (3%) – Finerman: wouldn’t be surprised to see more write-downs in the future
IBN – ICICI Bank (3%) – Seymour: the Indian state bank is issuing new bonds that will cut into the margins of ICICI and others
LULU – Lululemon (11%) – Finerman: the COO leaving is bad news and the stock has a very rich multiple
GM – General Motors (5%) – Adami: extraordinarily wary
NVTL – Novatel Wireless (23%) – Macke: Sprint, the “lunatic” of the wireless industry, is undercutting Novatel by practically giving away wireless cards
APOL – Apollo Group (9%) – Adami: student loan concerns are hurting everyone in this space, but APOL is still better than the rest
